FedEx digitizes booking process for European cold-chain pharma shipments

FedEx Corp. has introduced an online portal for pharmaceutical and life sciences companies to simplify booking and management of temperature-controlled parcel shipments in Europe. Medicines, vaccines, biologics and other critical healthcare products typically follow a separate booking process because they require specialized, value-added services beyond a standard parcel. That process includes providing a validated temperature-controlled package as part of the FedEx Temp-Assure Advantage (FTAA) service, with packaging supplied and managed through specialized fulfillment centers. Before the new FTAA portal, arranging these services often involved multiple steps and coordination between the customer, fulfillment center, and transportation network.

The Heavy-Duty Oil Standard Is Changing In January, What It Means For Your Fleet, Your Costs, And Your Equipment

This is not a marketing refresh or a new label on the same jug. It is a genuine category change, the kind the industry only goes through about once a decade. The last one landed in 2016. Before that, 2006.

Volvo’s 15% share goal runs through vocational trucks

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. — Volvo Trucks wants 15% of the North American heavy-truck market. Peter Voorhoeve, president of Volvo Trucks North America, says that goal counts on vocational trucks, a segment where Volvo has held a low single-digit share. Voorhoeve runs the North American arm of a brand with a large construction-truck business abroad. Volvo’s cab-over FMX holds about 30% of the vocational market in both Europe and Brazil, he said in a keynote at Volvo Construction Equipment’s Customer Center.
