YMX yard technology helps retailer trace $60,000 in missing freight

YMX Logistics is using computer vision and yard-management data to help investigate missing freight, including a case where the technology helped investigators connect five shipments to a specific truck and driver. The case involved five loads of cheese shipped from a Minnesota supplier that repeatedly arrived at a retailer’s facility with fewer pallets than listed on the purchase orders, YMX said in its Sept. 18 case study . The unidentified retailer’s investigators knew the supplier and shipping lanes involved but did not initially know which carriers or drivers had handled the loads. According to YMX, its team used the shipment information to search the yard-management system, identify carriers that had run the lanes and pull gate video from the relevant dates.
