Tsuneishi and OceanWings complete Maria Topic retrofit

Topic, Tsuneishi Shipbuilding and OceanWings have completed the installation of a rigid, tiltable wingsail aboard the Ultramax bulk carrier Maria Topic. Tsuneishi Shipbuilding retrofitted the vessel with the OceanWings system at its facilities in Japan. Maria Topic will now return to commercial service. The project marks a milestone in OceanWings’ commercial deployment and the wider adoption of wind-assisted propulsion in merchant shipping. Wind-assisted propulsion for existing vessels The retrofit demonstrates how operators can integrate rigid wingsail technology into an existing commercial vessel.

Maersk expands Diamond cargo insurance package worldwide

Maersk will make its Cargo Insurance Diamond package available to customers worldwide from 21 September 2026. The Cargo Insurance – Reefer – Diamond package will apply to shipments moving worldwide, excluding Saudi Arabia. Maersk has set the tariff at US$2,800. Price Calculation Date rules For non-SPOT bookings, Maersk will retrieve the rate according to the applicable Price Calculation Date. For non-FMC shipments, the Price Calculation Date is the scheduled departure date of the first water leg at the time of booking confirmation.
