Took awhile to happen but trucking jobs are now more than year ago

The truck transportation jobs figure for September did something it hadn’t done in more than three years. The Bureau of Labor Statistics monthly report released Friday showed 1,473,100 truck transportation jobs in September, an increase of 2,600 jobs from August. But what was more notable is that the year-on-year comparison reported that the September total was 800 jobs more than a year earlier. That does not sound like much. But it’s the first time since April 2023 that the year-on-year comparison for the truck transportation jobs report was positive.

Oregon Housing and Community Services has handed developers more than $1. 4 billion in state funding to build rent-restricted apartments over the last five years — and even more counting federal tax credits the agency allocates. Bell’s husband, Joshua Crites, works as a director for the consulting firm JH Brawner , which helps local housing authorities develop subsidized apartment projects that receive a lot of money from Bell’s agency. The company lists offices in Oregon, Washington and Arizona and says it has played a role in creating 20,000 low-income housing units that cost $3 billion to develop.
