Texas trucking enforcement action detains 14 people for immigration violations

Texas authorities stopped 67 commercial vehicles, impounded five tractor-trailers and detained 14 people for immigration violations during a joint enforcement operation targeting a major trucking corridor in Wichita County. The Wichita County Sheriff’s Office partnered with the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) and U. S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on Aug. 3 for an enforcement detail dubbed “The Heat Is On.”
