South Africa have levelled their four-Test series against New Zealand after beating the All Blacks 33–26 in Cape Town. A fourth Test follows in Baltimore on 13 September NZ time. That makes the next match pivotal. A win would put either side one victory away from taking the series, while another close contest would increase the pressure heading into the United States finale. The South Africa–New Zealand rivalry has stretched for more than a century, but this four-Test format gives the 2026 contest an old-tour feel rarely seen in the professional era. With the score now 1–1, the series has effectively become a best-of-two battle.
