Hapag-Lloyd updates Bill of Lading sanctions clause

Hapag-Lloyd has updated its standard Bill of Lading clause covering Russia, Belarus and Iran. The carrier said the revision aims to ensure compliance with sanctions imposed by the European Union, United States, United Kingdom and other relevant authorities. It also reflects Hapag-Lloyd’s internal compliance requirements. The updated clause takes effect immediately. Clause prohibits direct and indirect cargo involvement The clause prohibits direct or indirect involvement in the transportation, export, re-export or import of cargo originating from or destined for Russia, Belarus or Iran.
