DHL expands global battery logistics network as electrification accelerates

DHL is expanding its global battery logistics network as demand grows across electric mobility, battery manufacturing and energy storage. The logistics group has connected more than 20 EV and Battery Centers of Excellence worldwide. Further expansion is also planned. The network combines the capabilities of DHL Supply Chain, DHL Global Forwarding and DHL Express. It covers manufacturing logistics, transportation, warehousing and aftermarket services across key global markets.

Port of Liège and Euroports sign concession for Clermont-sous-Huy multimodal hub

The Port of Liège and Euroports Inland Terminals have signed a 30-year concession agreement for the Clermont-sous-Huy port area in Engis, signed on September 15, 2026, marking a new milestone in the development of port infrastructure and multimodality in the Liège region. The concession covers a strategically located strip of land between the quay along the Meuse and the sites operated by Euroports Inland Terminals, with the quay fully funded by the Wallonia Public Service for Mobility and Infrastructure. The transfer of quay management from Wallonia to the Port of Liège further expands the port’s portfolio, which now covers 34 port areas along the Meuse and Albert Canal spanning more than 380 hectares. The agreement supports the development of Euroports Inland Terminals’ 3R-Port Engis multimodal logistics hub. The first terminal, inaugurated in May 2026, occupies approximately 3.

Grocer Wegmans to invest in supply chain upgrades

Regional supermarket chain Wegmans plans to build a modern refrigerated distribution center in its hometown of Rochester, New York, to support perishable operations and consolidate storage of general merchandise at its Pottsville, Pennsylvania, warehouse. The investments are part of an effort to strengthen supply chain operations, reduce reliance on third-party providers, enhance service to stores and expand capacity for future growth, the company said in a news release last week. The new temperature-controlled warehouse, which will house fresh produce, meat and seafood, deli and restaurant food, is still in the planning stage. Construction and opening timelines have not been determined, Wegmans said. The grocery store will also relocate its return center from its current location in Rochester to a new, upgraded building in the city.
