Vessel delays hit major US container gateways

Container terminals at several major US gateways are facing vessel delays, with waiting times reaching up to 18 hours at Charleston and 12 hours at Los Angeles, according to Hapag-Lloyd’s latest North America operational update. The German carrier’s Week 36 data shows varying levels of congestion across key US ports, while several other gateways continue to operate with little or no vessel waiting time. Charleston records longest waiting times Charleston is seeing some of the most significant delays. At Wando Welch Terminal, vessels can face waiting times of up to six hours for Gemini services and up to 18 hours for non-Gemini vessels. Meanwhile, North Charleston Terminal is currently reporting no waiting time.
