US revises tariffs on Canadian goods ahead of October 30 changes

The United States has announced changes to its 50% tariffs on selected Canadian products , removing certain goods from the existing measures while adding new product categories. The modifications were introduced through a presidential proclamation signed on October 23, 2026, under Section 338 of the Tariff Act of 1930. They will take effect on October 30, changing the tariff treatment of a range of Canadian goods entering the US market. The latest measures amend tariffs introduced in July and subsequently modified in September, reflecting another adjustment to trade restrictions between the two countries. Changes to products covered by US tariffs Under the revised measures, several Canadian products will no longer be subject to the additional 50% Section 338 duties.
