METRANS boosts Poznań terminal capacity by nearly 80%

METRANS has completed a major expansion of its intermodal terminal in Gądki, near Poznań, Poland, increasing annual handling capacity by almost 80% to around 590,000 TEU. The HHLA subsidiary has also increased the terminal’s maximum container storage capacity from 8,850 TEU to 11,800 TEU. The project included new rail infrastructure, additional handling equipment and expanded operational areas. METRANS expands rail and container handling infrastructure Two new remote-controlled rail gantry cranes, each with a span of 80 metres, have entered operation at the terminal. METRANS also added two railway tracks and extended the three existing tracks to more than 750 metres.

Adriatic Gate Container Terminal reaches milestone at port of Rijeka

Adriatic Gate Container Terminal, ICTSI’s operation at the Port of Rijeka in Croatia, has handled four million TEUs since joining the ICTSI Group in 2011, with the milestone reached fifteen years into the partnership and five years after AGCT crossed the two million TEU mark. The achievement reflects sustained growth in container traffic through Croatia’s largest seaport and AGCT’s expanding role as a regional Adriatic gateway connecting global shipping networks with inland markets across Central and Southeast Europe. Much of AGCT’s cargo moves beyond Croatia through rail and road connections to key hinterland markets including Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Serbia and Slovakia. Hans-Ole Madsen, ICTSI Senior Vice President and EMEA Regional Head, attributed the growth to continued investment in infrastructure, equipment and intermodal connectivity, which has strengthened Rijeka’s position within regional supply chains and improved trade access for customers throughout the terminal’s hinterland. Hapag-Lloyd changes LOLO payment process in Chennai and Ennore

Hapag-Lloyd will change the payment process for Lift-On/Lift-Off (LOLO) services at empty container yards in Chennai and Ennore, India. From 1 November 2026, customers must pay the applicable charges directly to the yard or depot operator when the container is handled. Container size LOLO charge 20-foot container INR 725 plus applicable GST 40-foot container INR 975 plus applicable GST Payments must be made through NEFT or UPI. Cash payments will not be accepted. Customers seeking a tax invoice from the yard or depot operator must provide their company name, full billing address, Goods and Services Tax Identification Number and invoice email address when making the payment.
