Smyril Line takes delivery of new Ro-Ro vessel Skipanes

Smyril Line has taken delivery of its new Ro-Ro freight vessel Skipanes. The Chinese shipbuilder CIMC Raffles delivered the vessel to Smyril Line at its shipyard in Yantai, China. Skipanes will strengthen the company’s freight services across the North Atlantic. “We are very pleased to have taken delivery of Skipanes, which will strengthen our freight services in the North Atlantic,” said Jens Meinhard Rasmussen, CEO of Smyril Line. “This marks a milestone in the company’s history and an important step in the development of our fleet,” he added.

Fincantieri and Oceania Cruises have launched Oceania Sonata at the Marghera shipyard in Italy. The new luxury cruise ship is currently under construction and is scheduled for delivery in 2027. Paolo Novarino, Senior Director and Project Owner at Oceania Cruises, and Marco Lunardi, Senior Vice President of the Marghera shipyard, attended the launch ceremony. Oceania Sonata to accommodate 1,390 guests Oceania Sonata will have a gross tonnage of approximately 86,000 GT and will accommodate 1,390 guests. The vessel will feature spacious public areas, high levels of comfort and a design focused on delivering an exclusive travel experience.
