There seems to be no letup in capacity pressures plaguing alternative Middle East hubs, after container lines extend the levy of congestion surcharges to more gateways. After Saudi Arabia’s Jeddah, Khor Fakkan in the UAE has now been hit by congestion surcharges from certain container carriers seeking to recoup the extra operating costs they claim to be due to the persistent logjam.
