Port Houston container volumes fall 6% in July as import surge cools

Port Houston handled 369,899 twenty-foot equivalent units in July, a 6% decline from the same month last year, as container growth at the Gulf Coast gateway moderated after stronger activity earlier in 2026. During his career, he has led operational transformation, infrastructure development and business growth across Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the Americas. In his new role, Farhat will oversee Gulftainer’s ports and terminals operations. He will focus on operational performance across the company’s network and support its long-term growth strategy.
