Port of Santos begins regular ethanol bunkering operations

CMA CGM, Copersucar, Bunker One and the Santos Port Authority have launched regular ethanol bunkering operations at the Port of Santos in Brazil. The first operation under the programme took place on 19 October 2026. It involved the 13,000 TEU containership CMA CGM Iron . The vessel features the Everllence-B&W G95ME-C10. 5-LGIM engine.

Japan Airlines hires B747 cargo carriers to meet high-tech demand

Japan Airlines has expanded scheduled transcontinental all-cargo flights, utilizing Boeing 747 freighter aircraft operated by three large cargo airlines to take advantage of surging demand for shipments of semiconductors and digital equipment, much of it to support the rapid buildout of AI infrastructure. The Tokyo-based carrier began flying freighters again for the first time in 13 years in February 2024 and now operates three Boeing 767-300 converted freighters that previously flew for its passenger business. But those aircraft primarily operate on intra-Asia routes. In a 2035 strategy outlined in March, Japan Airlines said it planned to add large freighters to the cargo business to meet robust demand between Asia, North America and Europe, especially for high-value cargo such as semiconductor manufacturing equipment and pharmaceuticals. AI air freight drives Kuehne+Nagel profit increase

Earnings and volume gains, led by AI-related air freight demand and ongoing cost controls, spurred strong third-quarter results for Kuehne+Nagel, beating analysts’ estimates for profit and volumes. Revenue increased 22% to $8. 97 billion and pre-tax earnings were $527 million, up 53% year over year, the Swiss logistics giant reported last week. The air and ocean forwarding business outperformed by picking up more business from Chinese retail marketplaces and hyperscalers, taking away market share from competitors in the process. Management also said that its cost savings initiative is moving faster than originally anticipated, with annualized savings of $242 million by year’s end.
