Port of Lázaro Cárdenas reports higher cargo volumes

The Port of Lázaro Cárdenas handled 17,480,520 tonnes of commercial cargo through July 2026, an increase of 14% from the same period in 2025. The Mexican port also recorded 1,049 vessel calls during the reported period. Container traffic increases Containerised cargo accounted for 49% of the port’s total throughput. Mineral bulk represented 36%, while general cargo contributed 5%. Vehicles, agricultural bulk, petroleum products and other liquid cargoes accounted for the remaining 10%.
