Port of Lázaro Cárdenas advances strategic road infrastructure projects

Lázaro Cárdenas has allocated a total investment of MXN 1. 729 billion under its Public Works Investment Plan for 2025 to 2030, aimed at strengthening port logistics and transforming urban mobility for the benefit of the surrounding population. Two strategic road infrastructure projects are currently underway within the city of Lázaro Cárdenas. The first project, the Construction and Expansion of the Alternate Road to the Port Area including the Lázaro Cárdenas Port Bypass and expansion of the SICARTSA Bridge, is located along the SICARTSA Bypass between Melchor Ocampo Avenue and Morelos Avenue. With an investment of MXN 214,882,436, the project runs from June 2, 2026 to September 15, 2027.

Port of San Diego authorises permits for Skycharger electric truck hub

The Port of San Diego Board of Port Commissioners has certified the Environmental Impact Report and authorised the issuance of a Coastal Development Permit for the Tidelands Avenue Electric Truck Hub proposed by Skychargers, marking a significant milestone in the port’s efforts to advance zero-emissions freight infrastructure. T he Board has also authorised staff to sign a non-binding Term Sheet with Skycharger as lease negotiations continue. The proposed electric truck hub will support the Port’s Maritime Clean Air Strategy, a programme designed to significantly reduce diesel pollution from maritime and industrial operations in and around the port and improve air quality for all communities surrounding San Diego Bay. The EIR, published for public review on January 29, 2026, analysed potential environmental effects across air quality, energy, hazardous materials, hydrology and water quality, noise and transportation. DP World modernize the port of Tartous

DP World has reached a significant milestone in its US$ 800 million investment programme at the Port of Tartous, completing the delivery of all three Mobile Harbour Cranes that are expected to increase the port’s cargo-handling capacity by approximately 40%. The cranes will enable faster vessel turnaround, improved operational efficiency and increased handling of containerised, bulk and breakbulk cargo, forming the opening phase of a comprehensive modernisation programme under DP World’s 30-year concession agreement with the Syrian government. The next phase of the programme will include the deployment of forklift trucks and reach stackers later this year, followed by nine additional light-duty mobile harbour cranes during 2027 and early 2028, and a new quay crane planned for delivery in 2028. Dredging works to deepen the harbour will commence shortly, while refurbishment of the port’s quay walls is expected to be completed by the end of 2027. These infrastructure improvements will enhance the port’s capacity to accommodate larger vessels while improving operational safety and efficiency.
