Port of Koper hosts energy transition forum

Representatives of ports, institutions and the professional community gathered in Koper for a joint event organised as part of the European BREEZE and SUPERALFUEL projects, with Luka Koper participating as a project partner in both initiatives. The event focused on the energy transition in maritime transport as a matter of immediate strategic decision-making rather than a distant planning exercise. Vojko Rotar, Member of the Management Board and Workers’ Director at Luka Koper, opened proceedings by emphasising the long-term, capital-intensive and largely irreversible nature of energy transition investments in port and maritime infrastructure, making expert knowledge exchange a critical compass for responsible strategic decisions and a means of reducing the risk of costly errors. The BREEZE project, bringing together nine partners from eight European countries, focuses on knowledge exchange and good practices for the more effective deployment of onshore power supply for ships, addressing technical, business and regulatory solutions.
