Port of Klaipėda deploys smart buoy to improve navigation safety

The Port of Klaipėda has deployed a new smart buoy in the Baltic Sea to improve navigation safety and vessel traffic management. The buoy is located four nautical miles from the port entrance. It collects real-time navigation and weather data. Buoy monitors GPS interference The system measures wave height, direction and period. It also monitors currents, water and air temperature, atmospheric pressure and GPS signal interference .
