Partial closure of Suurhoffbrug disrupts road access to Maasvlakte

A partial closure of the western Suurhoffbrug on the A15 motorway, in effect since 5pm on Wednesday September 17, is causing significant disruption to road access to the Maasvlakte area of the Port of Rotterdam. Road users, port companies and employees travelling to the Maasvlakte are experiencing serious delays, with knock-on effects for residents of surrounding municipalities and negative impacts on supply chains and economic activity in the area. The Port of Rotterdam Authority has emphasised the importance of completing the necessary repair works as quickly as possible to restore safe and efficient access to the Maasvlakte. Shipping under the Suurhoffbrug is unaffected by the closure, and freight rail traffic to and from the Maasvlakte continues without disruption.
