ParkerSteel establishes steel import and storage operation at port of Sheerness

ParkerSteel Ltd, a leading steel stockholder and processor based in the southeast of England, has established a new steel import and storage operation at the Port of Sheerness in partnership with Peel Ports Group, creating a more efficient supply chain route from vessel discharge to end customer across the Southeast. The solution was developed in response to growing demand for steel products across ParkerSteel’s customer base in construction, manufacturing and engineering. The company required a port close to its Canterbury operations capable of handling larger vessels, providing on-port storage and enabling direct distribution to customers, with the goal of streamlining the route from import to delivery. Peel Ports Group worked closely with ParkerSteel to develop a steel import and storage operation at Sheerness combining vessel handling capabilities with port-centric storage and distribution. The strategic location of Sheerness and its expertise in steel cargo handling enabled the establishment of an operation supporting both current requirements and future growth.
