ONEX Shipyards signs agreement with for eco vessels

ONEX Shipyards and Technologies Group has announced a strategic agreement with Antipollution, a member of the V Group, for the design and construction of four state-of-the-art ecological vessels with an option for four additional units. The agreement was signed at the Posidonia 2026 international exhibition in the presence of Greece’s Minister of Shipping and Island Policy, Vasilis Kikilias, underscoring the project’s significance for the national economy and international shipping. The vessels will be designed and built entirely in Greece, utilising the combined capabilities of ONEX’s Elefsina Shipyards and the historic Syros Shipyards at Neorio. Classification will be provided by ABS, guaranteeing quality, safety and environmental excellence. The new eco vessels will incorporate advanced technologies for the collection of ship-generated waste and its transport to land-based facilities in compliance with the strictest international MARPOL convention standards, while their design also prepares them for operations in conditions of marine pollution and maritime emergencies.
