Since 2018, the New South Wales city of Armidale has been a designated site for resettling refugees. It's a town that sits within the electorate of Barnaby Joyce. While Joyce was a key voice supporting Armidale's establishment as a refugee resettlement site, he's since defected from the Nationals to One Nation, a party which wants to ban all migrants who don't speak English.
