No northern men's Ashes Test next year follows 2023 reallocation

There will be no men's Ashes Test in the north next year as a direct result of the reallocation of a match from Southampton to Headingley in the 2023 series. The move in 2023 shifted hosting duties and has left the northern venues without a Test in the upcoming schedule. BBC Sport reports the decision stems from that earlier switch, which altered the pattern of venue allocation for the series. Organisers have not been cited beyond the link between the 2023 reallocation and next year’s absence of a northern Test.
