No. 2 container line studying US-UK route for nuclear ships

A. P. Moller-Maersk is participating in industry studies examining what would be required for nuclear-powered container ships to make routine port calls , with the work centered on regulation, safety, security and port operations rather than an immediate vessel-ordering program. The Danish carrier — the world’s second-largest by capacity — (OTC: AMKBY ) joined Lloyd’s Register and reactor developer Core Power in 2024 to assess the regulatory feasibility of operating a containership using a fourth-generation nuclear reactor at a European port. The study focused on a feeder vessel, a smaller containership used to connect regional ports with major hub terminals .

Helen Haines: independent MP in critical condition in Melbourne’s Alfred hospital after being struck by car in Wangaratta – follow updates

A joint counter-terrorism taskforce is investigating the incident, which Anthony Albanese alleged ‘wasn’t an accident’ ‘Deeply appalled’: politicians condemn alleged attack after Helen Haines critically injured Helen Haines, the principled MP respected across parliament What we know so far Get our new political email, free app or daily news podcast It “beggars belief” that Helen Haines would be involved in an incident like this, Victorian National MP Tim McCurdy told ABC’s RN this mornng. Helen is just a lovely person, and I just cannot for the life of me see how anyone could take offence at Helen and have this attitude towards her. It’s just appalling. I mean, all MPs, but particularly regional MPs, we make ourselves available to everybody wherever at any time. And this is what’s so hard to believe: that if you can’t walk down the street in Wangaratta or any other regional town like this with the fear of this going on, it’s just shocking.
