WEL Companies integrates Descartes and CARRIER1 to streamline freight operations

US-based transportation and logistics provider WEL Companies has integrated Descartes Systems Group’s transportation management system (TMS) with CARRIER1 Vault to streamline freight brokerage operations and improve communication across its trucking network. Announced on October 22, 2026, the integrated solution enables WEL Companies to manage shipments transported by its own fleet alongside freight handled by third-party carriers within its for-hire network. The system connects brokerage activities with carrier and driver workflows, allowing shipment information, status updates and delivery documentation to move between the two platforms without requiring freight brokers to leave their existing TMS environment. “The Descartes and CARRIER1 collaboration lets WEL automate communication and shipment data across our brokerage, our assets, and our for-hire carrier network, without our brokers ever leaving their TMS,” said Eric Lenze, EVP at WEL Companies. “That means a faster shipment lifecycle and a better experience for our customers,” he added.
