Maersk updates fuel surcharge in Skopje

Maersk will update its fuel surcharge for truck transport in Skopje from 31 August 2026. The carrier will apply a 25% fuel surcharge due to the situation in the Middle East and the resulting increase in fuel costs. Weekly fuel surcharge reviews Maersk described the adjustment as an exceptional measure that will apply during the coming weeks. The carrier will use the following review process: The surcharge will be reviewed weekly instead of monthly. No trigger mechanism will apply during this period.

When ProPublica recently investigated a rape crisis that surged through Syracuse University in the 1980s, we found evidence that the school had taken steps to suppress news coverage of the assaults. The university responded by portraying itself as a changed institution today, “committed to supporting the students who come forward and being there for them at every step of the process,” as a school spokesperson put it. But the university’s recent actions in a lawsuit filed by a former student who was attacked on campus during that period appear at odds with that commitment.
