Maersk introduces new surcharges across South America and Nordic region

Maersk has announced new surcharge measures covering trades from the East Coast of South America and inland shipments across the Nordic region. The changes include a Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) of up to US$1,000 per container. Maersk is also introducing a temporary Emergency Inland Fuel/Energy Surcharge in several Nordic markets. South America PSS reaches US$1,000 From 8 October 2026 , Maersk will introduce and revise its PSS from Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay and Argentina. For shipments to the West Coast of South America , the surcharge will be US$1,000 per dry container .
