Maersk introduces new Mediterranean peak season surcharges

Maersk will introduce new Peak Season Surcharges (PSS) on cargo moving from the Mediterranean to the United States and Canada. The new charges will take effect on 7 October 2026 and will remain in place until further notice. West Mediterranean surcharge set at $250 per container For cargo moving from the West Mediterranean to the United States and Canada, Maersk will apply a surcharge of US$250 per container . The rate applies to 20-foot, 40-foot, 45-foot high-cube dry and 40-foot reefer containers. The origin scope includes ports in South West Europe and Central South Europe.
