Maersk introduces LCL emergency surcharge to Gulf markets

Maersk has introduced an Emergency Operational Cost Recovery surcharge for Less-than-Container Load shipments to Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait and Iraq. The surcharge applies to cargo originating worldwide, excluding Far East Asia, and will remain in place until further notice. Effective dates The surcharge took effect for non-regulated countries based on a Price Calculation Date of 17 September 2026. For regulated trades, it will apply from 11 October 2026. These markets include the United States, Guam, American Samoa, the US Virgin Islands, Colombia, Puerto Rico and Brazil.
