Lloyd’s Register launches RouteFlex for container stowage optimisation

Lloyd’s Register (LR) has launched LR RouteFlex , a new application designed to give containership operators more flexibility in stowage planning. The tool uses metocean data to calculate weather-dependent factors for individual routes. It allows operators to adjust stowage plans when voyage conditions or routes change. LR developed the application as container shipping faces more frequent route diversions caused by weather, geopolitical events, port congestion and other disruptions. RouteFlex adapts stowage plans to voyage changes Traditional stowage planning often relies on assumptions established for a predefined route.
