Konecranes marks AGV milestone at APM Terminals Maasvlakte II

Konecranes and APM Terminals Maasvlakte II have marked the handover of the 1,000th Automated Guided Vehicle produced by Konecranes, with APM Terminals Maasvlakte II selected as the destination for the milestone vehicle in recognition of the longstanding collaboration between the two organisations. Representatives from both companies celebrated the occasion at the Rotterdam terminal on September 8, 2026. When Maasvlakte II was designed, APM Terminals adopted an integrated terminal concept in which automated and electrified equipment, software and operational processes work together as a unified system. AGV technology at scale became a central element of this automated container-handling concept, with the vehicles transporting containers electrically between the quay and the container yard. Over the course of the collaboration, teams from both organisations have continued to develop and refine the technology and the processes supporting its deployment.
