K Shipbuilding, Sejin and ClassNK partner on eco LPG carrier

K Shipbuilding, Sejin Heavy Industries and ClassNK have signed a memorandum of understanding to develop a new-generation eco LPG carrier. The three companies signed the agreement during Gastech 2026 in Bangkok, Thailand. The project will focus on a 9,000 m³ LPG carrier designed to comply with forthcoming amendments to the International Code for the Construction and Equipment of Ships Carrying Liquefied Gases in Bulk. Project prepares for amended IGC Code The International Maritime Organization is expected to adopt the amended IGC Code during the 112th session of the Maritime Safety Committee in December 2026. The revised requirements are scheduled to enter into force on 1 July 2028.
