“K” Line orders three VLCCs from Nihon Shipyard

Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, known as “K” Line, has signed agreements with Nihon Shipyard for the construction of three very large crude carriers. The next-generation VLCCs will feature energy-saving designs and high fuel efficiency. Malaccamax design targets Middle East-Asia trade Nihon Shipyard will construct the vessels as Malaccamax VLCCs. The design will allow the ships to transport crude oil efficiently between the Middle East and Asia through the Strait of Malacca. “K” Line selected Nihon Shipyard based on its technology and experience in constructing Malaccamax VLCCs.
