Introducing SCI: Custom Insights: Turn Your Transportation Network Into Actionable Intelligence

Shippers have more transportation data than ever — but having the data and knowing what to do with it are two very different things. Tender activity, carrier acceptance, rates, volume, market conditions and routing guide performance often live in separate systems and get analyzed separately. That makes it hard to see where a network is performing well, where risk is building, and where there’s an opportunity to cut cost. That’s the problem SCI: Custom Insights is built to solve. SCI: Custom Insights is a new consortium-powered experience within SONAR’s Supply Chain Intelligence that combines a shipper’s own transportation data with SONAR’s market benchmarks to deliver an ongoing view of network performance.

That was one of the central messages from “The Coaching Roadmap: Developing Your Driver Workforce,” a panel at the International Foodservice Distributors Association’s 2026 Solutions Conference , held Sept. 13-15 in San Antonio. The discussion featured Hayden Cardiff, vice president of safety solutions at Descartes , and Tim Eckhardt, senior director of safety at Dot Foods Inc. Eckhardt oversees safety for Dot Transportation, the transportation arm of Dot Foods, including driver safety, training, accidents, litigation and risk management.
