ID Logistics and Terra Robotics plan humanoid robot pilot in Germany

ID Logistics has partnered with Terra Robotics to explore the use of humanoid robots in warehouse operations, with plans to launch its first pilot under real operating conditions in Germany within six months. The strategic partnership, which took effect on 1 November 2026, follows initial tests involving two humanoid robots at facilities in Griesheim and Löhne. The companies aim to identify tasks where humanoid robots could support warehouse operations. Their focus includes sorting, order picking, packing and other repetitive logistics activities. The agreement also marks a further step in ID Logistics’ efforts to assess new automation technologies across its contract logistics operations.

Through Werner Fleet Sales, the company sells retired tractors directly to carriers and owner-operators, which puts it in daily contact with the people deciding whether to buy new, buy used or hold on to what they already have.
