Hecksher acquires Fairplay Shipping

Hecksher Denmark has acquired 100% of the shares in Fairplay Shipping, a Danish freight forwarding and shipping company with 13 employees, broadening its service offering and strengthening its position in specialist logistics across the Danish market. Fairplay Shipping brings expertise across healthcare logistics, fine art transport, project cargo, air freight and warehouse operations, serving customers across a wide range of industries. The acquisition complements Hecksher’s existing capabilities and supports its ambition to provide reliable and flexible logistics solutions through strong local knowledge combined with an international network. All Fairplay Shipping employees will continue in their current roles, ensuring continuity for customers, partners and suppliers. Jeanet Hedegaard will remain as Managing Director during the integration process, maintaining the personal service, flexibility and close customer relationships that have characterised the company.

Hapag-Lloyd updates dangerous goods surcharge to Jeddah

Hapag-Lloyd will update its Dangerous Goods Premium (DGP) for shipments from Europe to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The updated surcharge will take effect on 1 September 2026 and will remain in place until further notice. DGP set at US$1,000 per container The surcharge applies to cargo moving from North Europe and the Mediterranean Sea to Jeddah . Hapag-Lloyd will charge US$1,000 per container for all container types carrying dangerous goods. However, cargo classified under Dangerous Goods Classes 1 and 7 is excluded from the DGP.
