Hapag-Lloyd announces US$1,000 rate increase to US East Coast and Houston

Hapag-Lloyd will introduce a General Rate Increase and General Rate Adjustment on shipments from the Indian subcontinent, Pakistan and the Middle East to the US East Coast and Houston. The adjustment will apply to all containers gated in full from 15 October 2026 and will remain valid until further notice. US$1,000 increase per container Hapag-Lloyd will apply an increase of US$1,000 per container across the affected trade. The adjustment covers: 20-foot and 40-foot dry containers Reefer containers Special containers High Cube equipment The geographical scope includes India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Jordan.
