Fleetworthy expands Expedited Inspection to five states

Fleetworthy expanded its Expedited Inspection program to California, Michigan, Vermont and Maine on Tuesday, bringing the automated roadside inspection tool to five states. Nevada, the first, has used it since June 2025. When a truck is selected for inspection, the program sends fleet and vehicle data and the driver’s electronic Record of Duty Status (eRODS) directly to the officer. Eligibility rests on two conditions: a fleet must use Fleetworthy’s Weigh Station Bypass service, which operated as Drivewyze before Bestpass-Fleetworthy Solutions bought it in 2024, and, for now, it must run ELDs from Geotab or Platform Science. Fleetworthy called the Nevada launch the industry’s first automated roadside inspection solution and said enforcement officers there are already reporting time savings.

Alabama association chief Colson named new head of ATA

The American Trucking Associations has turned to one of its affiliates and plucked the head of the Alabama Trucking Association to be the national group’s next president and CEO, effective December 1. According to a statement released by ATA, Colson has been president and CEO of the Alabama Trucking Association since 2019. Prior to that, he worked for several Alabama-based business organizations, including the Business Council of Alabama. Colson, according to ATA, has been active in the group’s activities.
