Hi-tech cargo powers K+N growth as DSV rebuilds volumes

Intra-Asia rates are receding from their recent highs as bottlenecks in major Chinese and other Asian ports subside. On 15 October, Drewry’s Intra-Asia Container Index dipped 3%, to an average of $1,453 per 40ft. Rates from Shanghai to key destinations, including Busan in South Korea, Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, and Jawaharlal Nehru Port in India, softened as vessel waiting times declined. Late, short deliveries cost food and CPG makers $100 billion

Cleo estimates that late and incomplete deliveries cost U. S. and Canadian consumer packaged goods (CPG) and food and beverage manufacturers about $100 billion a year. The supply chain software company released the figure Tuesday in a report on on-time, in-full (OTIF) performance. Direct costs such as retailer chargebacks, expedited freight and dispute management make up $10 billion to $11 billion of that total, according to The $100 Billion Supply Chain Penalty: OTIF’s Total Economic Impact .

It had been nearly a decade since medical experts diagnosed him with a neurological disease they attributed to his exposure to chemicals at work. In the time since, he had acquired a stutter, begun limping and lost several teeth biting into a banana. For nearly 20 years, Rouse had packaged plutonium and monitored radioactive waste at the Hanford Site , a now-decommissioned Department of Energy nuclear weapons production plant in south-central Washington and one of the most contaminated nuclear sites in the country.
