Port of Long Beach accelarates zero-emissions and demolition proccess

The Port of Long Beach has released a draft Initial Study on a proposal by SA Recycling LLC to demolish its marine terminal facility on Pier T and has highlighted its partnership with fourth-generation family trucking and logistics company Duncan and Son Lines. The Draft Initial Study and Mitigated Negative Declaration concludes that the project would not have any significant or unmitigable environmental impacts, finding that potential impacts to biological, cultural and tribal cultural resources would be mitigated to less-than-significant levels with no other significant impacts identified. As required under its lease with the Port, SA Recycling will restore the 19-acre site at 482 Pier T Avenue to its pre-lease condition as part of vacating the facility. Meanwhile, the Port of Long Beach has highlighted its partnership with fourth-generation family trucking and logistics company Duncan and Son Lines as an example of how supply chain collaboration is enabling simultaneous progress toward doubled cargo volumes and zero-emissions operations under the port’s 2050 Vision plan.
