Colombia earthquake disrupts operations at Buenaventura

CMA CGM has warned of continued logistics disruption at the Port of Buenaventura following the earthquake that affected western Colombia on 10 August 2026. The impact remains concentrated on Colombia’s Pacific Coast, particularly in and around Buenaventura. Operations on the country’s Atlantic Coast remain fully operational and unaffected, according to the French carrier. Buenaventura operations partially resume Terminal operations at Buenaventura have partially resumed. However, vessels are still being handled under constrained conditions as recovery efforts continue.
