CMA CGM raises Manaus low water surcharge to US$2,315 per TEU

CMA CGM will increase its Low Water Surcharge (LWS) to US$2,315 per TEU for shipments to and from Manaus, Brazil. The new surcharge will take effect on 2 October 2026 and will apply to all equipment types. The carrier said the measure comes as falling water levels affect navigation across the Amazon River system. Amazon water levels fall rapidly CMA CGM said water levels in the Negro and Amazon rivers fell faster in August than during the same period in recent years, except for 2024. Conditions are now approaching the critical levels recorded in 2023.
