CMA CGM introduces China to East Africa peak season surcharge
CMA CGM will introduce a Peak Season Surcharge for shipments from China to Dar es Salaam in Tanzania and Mombasa in Kenya. The surcharge will take effect on 15 October 2026 and remain applicable until further notice. Origin Destination Surcharge North and Central China Dar es Salaam, Tanzania US$600 per TEU North and Central China Mombasa, Kenya US$800 per TEU South China Dar es Salaam, Tanzania US$550 per TEU South China Mombasa, Kenya US$800 per TEU For shipments originating in China, the surcharge will be subject to filing with the Shanghai Shipping Exchange and may be incorporated into the ocean freight rate.
