Cavotec and EVIAS partner on dynamic charging for port vehicles

Cavotec and EVIAS have signed an exclusive global distribution agreement for automatic charging technology aimed at electric vehicles operating inside ports. Under the agreement, Cavotec will distribute and install EVIAS technology for the port sector worldwide. The system can charge electric terminal vehicles while they are moving or waiting for containers , reducing the need to take equipment out of operation for charging. Charging while vehicles operate EVIAS has developed a conductive charging system for intensive fleet operations. A robotic arm mounted on the vehicle automatically connects to a charging rail embedded in the road.
