Halifax port appoints three new port user directors

The Halifax Port Authority has announced the appointments of Richard Edwards, John Fitzpatrick KC and Laurie Graham to its Board of Directors for three-year terms, effective September 14, 2026. All three join as Port User directors, bringing complementary expertise across marine operations, law and communications to the board. Richard Edwards is a marine service industry consultant with more than 30 years of experience in commercial and operational roles across Eastern Canadian ports, including an extensive career working with stakeholders at the Port of Halifax. He has previously served as a director of the Eastern Canadian Tug Owners Association and as Vice Chair of both the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia and the Mission to Seafarers Halifax. John Fitzpatrick KC is a Senior Partner at BoyneClarke LLP in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, appointed King’s Counsel in 2008 and listed in Best Lawyers since 2012.
