Asian carriers order 14 container ships in new fleet expansion

Four Asian shipping lines have placed firm orders for 14 container ships, with options potentially increasing the combined total to 16 vessels. The orders cover ships ranging from 1,900 TEU to 14,000 TEU and involve three Chinese shipyards. According to DynaLiners, China United Lines, Wan Hai, Asean Seas Line and Regional Container Lines are behind the latest contracts. CU Lines orders its largest ships China United Lines has signed a contract with Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding for two 14,000 TEU container ships. The vessels will become the largest ships ever ordered by CU Lines.
