ArrowXL reduces fleet mileage by using Descartes route planning solution

ArrowXL by JP Home, the UK’s largest two-person home delivery and warehousing specialist, has reduced its fleet mileage by approximately 13% following the implementation of Descartes’ fleet performance management solution suite. The improvement has lowered operating costs and emissions while increasing delivery success rates, revenue per route and vehicle lifespan across the company’s big and bulky home delivery operations. The Descartes solution now plans 95 percent of ArrowXL’s delivery routes overnight, significantly reducing dependence on manual planning processes. Beyond the mileage reduction, early route terminations have fallen from 5% to 1%, improving first-attempt delivery success rates, while deliveries outside customers’ preferred time windows have decreased by 4%. The company is also enhancing its proof of delivery and appointment tracking capabilities as part of the broader implementation.
