Amazon battles freight inflation as shipping costs jump 11% in Q3

Amazon reported record operating profitability in the third quarter on Thursday after the market closed, as the e-commerce giant continued expanding its delivery network and robotics investments amid higher transportation costs. CEO Andy Jassy said investments in same-day fulfillment facilities and ultra-fast delivery services are helping the company attract more customers while lowering fulfillment expenditures. “We’re on track to reduce cost to serve per unit for the fourth consecutive year,” Jassy said during a call with analysts. The Seattle-based company reported third-quarter revenue of $201. 9 billion, up 12% from $180.

Cisco and PSA Singapore collaborate on AI-driven platform for Tuas Port

Cisco and PSA Singapore have announced a strategic collaboration to develop a proof of concept for an AI-powered observability and incident management platform at Tuas Port, the world’s largest fully automated container terminal. The initiative is part of Cisco’s Country Digital Acceleration programme, through which Cisco partners with public and private sector organisations to advance national digitalisation priorities and support Singapore’s digital agenda. The platform will unify real-time performance data from PSA’s applications, infrastructure and networking systems into a central view, using AI to map how different services and infrastructure interact. This enables technical teams to quickly identify affected services during an incident, diagnose root causes and receive real-time resolution recommendations. Built-in cloud-native security capabilities protect critical port infrastructure against modern threats, preventing unauthorised access and flagging unusual network activity.
