Alexandria port reports smooth operations

Navigation and cargo handling operations at the Alexandria Port Authority proceeded smoothly over the reported 24-hour period, with 32 vessels arriving and 9 departing for a total of 41 ship movements. A total of 38 vessels were active or berthed at quays, reflecting efficient vessel traffic management in accordance with scheduled maritime timetables. Combined cargo handling across the ports of Alexandria and El-Dekheila reached approximately 115,200 tonnes of goods and strategic commodities, comprising 59,000 tonnes of outbound cargo and 56,200 tonnes of inbound cargo, with exports marginally exceeding imports during the period. Container throughput reached 5,189 TEUs, broken down into 2,283 outbound, 2,104 inbound and 802 transit units, illustrating the diversity of container handling operations across export, import and transshipment functions. Gate movements totalled 8,960 truck transactions, with 4,642 entries and 4,318 exits recorded across the two ports.
